Chloe's First Field Trip

How could I forget to blog about Chloe's first field trip to Gilcrease Orchard?  Chloe doesn't have school on Friday's and that was the day the special ed department decided to have a field trip.  Parents were to bring their kids to the orchard to pick pumpkins.  Most of Chloe's classmates came so she got to run around with her friends.  Chloe's class only has 6 students but the afternoon class came too.

Running through the maze.
There were many rows of pumpkin types.  She ran through the plants looking for the perfect pumpkin.

These three made it to the end of a row and then started back in a different one.
It took about 30 minutes for her to find the right pumpkin.  Everyone I pointed out wasn't perfect.  She finally settled on this one.
I even brought my loppers to cut the pumpkin's stem off.

After buying some fresh cider and her pumpkin, she posed for a picture with this big pumpkin.
Etta was not happy when she came home from school and Chloe had a pumpkin.  Etta had to wait over a week before the Kindergarten class had their field trip to pick pumpkins.  The girls had a great October and are ready to count down till next Halloween.  Maybe I can talk them into counting down to Thanksgiving instead.
