Fall Festival

Our church (Calvary Chapel of Monterey Bay) had an alternative to Halloween last night, the Fall Festival. Originally I wanted to take Etta trick or treating but then we realized we'd be the ones eating candy since she doesn't have any interest in candy yet (thank goodness). However, once we heard what the Fall Festival included we decided we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have some fun with the church community.

Come early=good parking spot

We showed up at 6pm which is when it started and there was a huge line for food already. They were offering hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy, and popcorn all for 50cents each. The cafe was also serving hot chocolate, pumpkin latte and mocha, coffee, and apple cider for 50 cents each too! Thank goodness because it was super cold last night. We were able to get a little bit of everything and share it with Etta.
After dinner we headed towards all the bounce houses. They had three big bounce houses and another thing I'd never seen before. You get a bungee wrapped around your waist and you run as fast as you can then the bungee pulls you back; of course it's a jump house as well so you just bounce around when you get pulled back. Looked like a lot of fun. One of the bounce houses was good for Etta's age (she's probably a bit young, but we still let her try it out). She's been jumping up and down for quite a long time now (thanks Sherra and Kierlyn!) and has been getting both feet off the ground recently. Anyway, I put her in the house and she wasn't sure what to do at first but watched all the other kids bouncing around. She spent most of the time getting up and running into the sides, but she loved every minute of it. Until daddy came in to take her out. She was in there forever and Eric thought it was time to move on. After that, it was all downhill from there.

I met up with Eric and Etta in Bible Land Adventures after nursing Chloe. They were in 'Eden' where they had tons of plants, animals, games, and balloons for the kids to play with. She was pretty worn out by this time and started throwing a fit when she didn't get her way. We didn't check out all the other rooms after Eden, we knew Etta's clock was winding down and we wanted to check out the petting zoo before leaving.

We had to wait several minutes before going in which wasn't the easiest thing to do when all she wanted was to pet the goat, bunnies, and chickens. She was great with the goats and then all of a sudden wanted to pick up the little chairs and walk around. After I took the chairs away from her, the melt down began. We packed up the girls and headed home. Etta was easily consoled with a bottle of milk I took with us.

After coming home Etta had to check out the few goodies she brought home. Thanks grandma for the cute bag!
A pixie stick with a flower on it!
Speaking of flowers, here's our little flower!

We had a great time at the festival and wished we would be here next Halloween! What did you do for Halloween? Hope it was fun.

Wow, that sounds like such a great fall festival...way better than the ones I remember going to church for as a kid! :-)

My niece turned 4 on Halloween, so my brother and his wife had a costume party/birthday party for her at their house. They rented a bounce house for all the kids too. It was pretty fun. I'm glad you guys had a fun Halloween.
