Diaper Challenge: Pure and Gentle (find these at the commissary)
Etta: about 25 pounds wearing size 4
Cost: $4.69 for 34
Description: These are only available in size 2 and up so I picked up a size 4 for Etta during the day and size 5 for her to wear at night. We just finished the bag of size 4 this morning and just starting wearing the size 5 at night this past week. We only had one leak during the day and it's because I let her go way to long without changing her. They seem to sag and hang low when wet, but it holds moisture well. They just seem cheaper than any of the other brands we've been trying out. We ran out of Pampers for her to wear at night so several days ago she started wearing the Pure and Gentle. I was worried about massive leaking at night but surprisingly they are doing even better than the Pampers! Every night she leaked through the Pampers and last night was Etta's first leak in the Pure and Gentle. Mainly because she slept in till 8am which is almost an hour longer than usual.
Chloe: About 11 pounds 10 ounces! Transitioning to size 2
Description: Unfortunately she's been in size 1 so we weren't able to pick up the Pure and Gentle for her. However, I just picked up a size 2 Exchange Brand and will try the Pure and Gentle size 2 next.
Conclusion: These are so cheap! The quality seems cheap to me, but they work pretty well minus the droopiness when wet, but they're less than $5 per bag. I think we'll continue to use them at night for Etta now. We plan on trying them on Chloe to see which I like better, Pure and Gentle or Exchange diapers for her. So far, my choice in diapers we've tried out (based on cost and performance): 1. Exchange Diapers 2. Pure and Gentle 3. LUVS 4. Huggies 5. tie between Huggies Supreme and Pampers. If cost is no option for you, I really do like the Huggies Supreme. However, having two in diapers makes me think of the bottom line...saving money.
